Beyonce Knowles is one of the most popular R&B singer who turned into acting. After a few years establishing her solo career she opened her sights on a movie career.

First Movie Appearance

At the age of 20 Beyonce Knowles started with the logical transitional project "Carmen: A Hip Hopera", a modern-day version of the Bizet opera Carmen, produced by MTV in 2001 with co-star Mekhi Phifer.

Recurring Roles

In 2002 she had a recurring role in "Austin Powers in Goldmember" playing Foxxy Cleopatra opposite Mike Myers and Michael Caine. Beyoncé also recorded the song "Work It Out" for the film's soundtrack.

In 2003, Beyonce starred opposite Cuba Gooding, Jr. in a musical comedy film "The Fighting Temptations", and recorded a song for it called "Fighting Temptation". The song did not become a hit, although the film was a moderate success at the box office.
