David Cook was brilliant during his performance in the American Idol Top 10 when he sang Chris Cornell's version of Billie Jean.

Even if the song arrangement was credited by Ryan Seacrest during the introduction, Chris Cornell's fan was not happy with the usage of his version. It was reported that his fans were sending emails to his website and very protective of Chris.

According to Chris Cornell he was flattered that David Cook used his arrangement and found that his performance was brilliant. He assumed that David was a big fan of his given the perfection and accuracy of his performance. Chris said David followed everything including the vocal nuances.

The version of the Billie Jean performed is found on the second album of Chris titled Carry On.
