Last January 7, 2009 People’s Choice Awards night awarded Carrie Underwood as the “Favorite Female Singer”. She also won the “Favorite Country Song(“Last Name”)” and as the most “Favorite Star”. Carrie is truly a favorite, keep it up girl!

There are rumors whether the instant-celebrity status as an American Idol winner should make a singer an instant headlining star. But no questions asked when Carrie Underwood displayed on the Big Valley Jamboree stage last time and she keep bringing good songs to her table.

Our American Idol champ Carrie Underwood is nominated as the best new artist in the MTV Video Music Awards. The country singer is starting to get recognition in music industries outside country music.
Others nominated for the award are Amy Winehouse, Gym Class Heroes and Peter Bjorn & John.
Justin Timberlake and Beyonce lead the parade of nominees with seven nominations each.
The awards will be presented September 9th in Las Vegas.
