Jessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981 in Pomona, California. His father is of Mexican descent Mark Alba, and her mother is Danish-French-Canadian Cathy Jensen. Jessica lived until she was seventeen in an Air Force family together with Joshua Alba, Jessica's brother. Jessica Alba was able to travel as a result of his father's Air Force background to places Biloxi, Mississippi, and Del Rio, Texas.

No one knew Jessica in school because she spent her time in the hospital as she grew up sickly and suffered collapsed lungs, caught pneumonia 4 to 5 times a year, asthma, tonsil cyst, and a burst appendix.

Jessica Alba showed interest as early as five and seven years later took her first acting class, she eventually signed with an acting agent.
