Biography

Hilary Erhard Duff was born on September 28, 1987 in Houston, Texas. His father Bob Erhard is a business owner of convenient store chains, and her mother is Susan Colleen Duff is a homemaker.

Hilary Duff and her sister Haylie took acting class early on with the prodding of their mother. At the age of six, Hilary was cast in a ballet show titled The Nutcracker Suite with sister Haylie. Hilary, Haylie and their mother moved to California to pursue an acting career.

Hilary Duff already knew she wanted to be an actress early in life and after a long journey of auditions she managed to land small roles in True Women (1997) and Playing by Heart (1998). In 1999 she landed her first major role in Casper Meets Wendy (1998).

Personal

The young and beautiful actress dated Aaron Carter in 2002 after he left Lindsay Lohan for her which led to ill-feelings between Hilary and Lindsay. The couple eventually broke up after one year and a half after Aaron cheated on Duff with her best friend.

Five years after Hilary and Lindsay’s hate relationship, they finally reconciled in the early months of 2007 and Lindsay attended Hilary’s Dignity release album party.

Hilary Duff dated Joel Madden in 2004 and their relationship was officially announced by Hilary’s mother, Susan in June 2005 through magazine Seventeen. By November of 2006, Hilary and Joel broke up.

In late 2006 Hilary Duff’s life was threatened by stalker Maksim Miakovsky who came to the US to have a romantic relationship with Hilary Duff. He was arrested on November 3, 2006 and held on $200,000 bail at the Manhattan Beach jail.

Hilary is a generous person having donated US$250,000 to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. She has also worked with USA Harvest to distribute meals in August of 2006. Aside from that, Hilary Duff is also a member of Kids with a Cause organization.
