Biography
Amber Erhard Tamblyn was born on May 14, 1983 in Santa Monica, California. Her father Russ Tamblyn is a musical actor and her mother is Bonnie who is a singer and artist.
Amber Tamblyn already had acting in her blood as early as her elementary days when she went to the elementary school for the arts in Southern California. It is where she performed 13 plays between kindergarten and eighth grade.
Amber Tamblyn is also an accomplished writer publishing two poetry books—Of the Dawn and Plenty of Ships, and The Loneliest

In 2005, Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing published a book of poems that she wrote over the span of seven years entitled Free Stallion. The School Library Journal’s review states that, “Free Stallion is a compilation of poetry that amounts to a portrait of the artist as a teenager…. Many of the selections are appropriately self-absorbed but move beyond journalistic catharsis to real insight and stunning language for one so young.”
In October 2006, Tamblyn did several poetry readings in California, including a couple with poet Derrick Brown.

Tamblyn is a political liberal and attended the 2004 Democratic National Convention. She has been a vegetarian since 2005 (stating that what keeps her from becoming a vegan is her taste for cheese.)
In February 2005, Tamblyn was threatened by a stalker. He pledged to “torture her for a million years” and “drill things into her kneecaps,” among other acts of violence. Frightened, Tamblyn phoned the police. A restraining order was issued forbidding the man from coming within 100 yards of her. [7]
Tamblyn is an agnostic.[8] She does say, however, that she does not deny the existence of God. She has also stated that she celebrates Hanukkah, although she is not Jewish.[9] She is the goddaughter of actors Dean Stockwell and Dennis Hopper and musician Neil Young. Stockwell and her father, Russ Tamblyn, appeared together in the film The Boy with Green Hair and in the Quantum Leap episode ‘Thou Shalt Not…’
